Workforce Development Training Fund
The Workforce Development Training Fund’s (WDTF) successful Internship and Business Training Grants are out there to help our businesses succeed, and during the first seven days of each month, an almost overwhelming number of applications hit the inbox. Though WDTF is always actively searching for new avenues of funding, the current ask is larger than the giving pot, which means these grants are highly competitive. For example: in August, there were 101 Business Training Grants requests received. Of those applications, only 31 were eligible for continuation to the review panel. Internship Grants had 17 applications submitted, and only 8 were eligible. The applications that were deemed ineligible had many of the same characteristics: they were incomplete, they lacked detail, did not align with the new grant parameters, or the employer was not registered and in Good Standing with Wyoming Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, Wyoming at Work, or the Secretary of State. There’s good news, though: We’re going to give you some of our best tips and tricks to get your application in the best shape it can be to give your business the best chance possible to be considered. Make sure your application is complete, including all appropriate supporting documentation. When in doubt, give MORE detail.Reach out! WDTF staff are available to answer questions any time before the application is submitted. The WDTF team also offers a Q&A session each month; click here to register |
