Scams Involving Crypto ATMs Cause Wyomingites To Lose Millions Every Year

45 crypto ATMS have been installed across Wyoming but that’s made people vulnerable to scams.

In Cheyenne alone $650,000 was extracted from victims by criminals claiming some kind of fake emergency and that you have to pay a fine immediately using a crypto ATM.

The new legislative season kicks off Feb. 9th and AARP Wyoming will be urging lawmakers to rein in scams associated with crypto ATM’s and the elderly.

One suggestion is to limit the crypto ATMs to $1000 per day and no more than $10,000 over a month while asking the state to require comapnies be licensed and regulated by the state bank division while also limiting high transation fees
