Ivinson Welcomes Family Medicine Provider Casey Starks
Providing family medicine in Ivinson Medical Group’s Pediatric and Family Care clinic, Dr. Starks will be accepting new patients of all ages. Originally from Cheyenne, Dr. Starks has provided family care in Wyoming since 2015. With 11 years of patient care experience, Dr. Starks is a provider for the whole family, seeing patients from infancy to geriatrics and everything in between.
“I love Family Medicine because I get to form long-standing relationships with patients and their families while working collaboratively to improve health and wellness,” Dr. Starks said of her practice. “I value the unique factors that each patient brings to the exam room and my role is to provide each patient with an individualized approach to preventative health, teamwork and evidence-based medicine.”
Earning her medical degree from the University of Colorado, Denver School of Medicine, Dr. Starks pursued the global health track that allowed her to take her studies internationally which took her to Guatemala. Dr. Starks is a bilingual physician and speaks both English and Spanish. For her Family Medicine residency training, Dr. Starks headed to Greeley and Wray, Colorado to complete a rural training track, followed by additional education in obesity medicine.
“I decided to pursue additional training to better help patients reach a healthy weight as this has such a positive impact on physical and mental health outcomes,” Dr. Starks said.
Joining the Ivinson team from Memorial Hospital in Douglas, Wyoming, Dr. Starks has been a very active member in both the medical and general community where she has lived and worked. As a physician, Dr. Starks has provided guidance and mentorship to WWAMI students through clinical rotations, and has been an active member on several boards and committees. As a mom, she has volunteered as a youth soccer coach since 2020.
“My family and I are excited to make Laramie home,” Dr. Starks said. “After training in rural Family Medicine I was excited to return to Wyoming to practice. We look forward to integrating into the community and experiencing all that Laramie has to offer.”
