Drs Mikesell And Habel Now Scheduling at Ivinson
Three new providers at Ivinson bring family medicine options to Ivinson Medical Group, offering care for the whole family. Local physicians Andrea Habel, MD and Darren Mikesell, DO join Casey Starks, MD — who started at Ivinson earlier this month — to offer family medicine at Ivinson.
“I am so pleased to continue to provide care for patients from Laramie and the surrounding area,” Dr. Habel said. “I have met some wonderful people in the last two years and hope to meet many more at Ivinson.”
Both Dr. Habel and Dr. Mikesell attended the University of Wyoming before attending medical school. Dr. Habel, a WWAMI graduate, attended the University of Washington where she pursued a targeted rural/underserved track (TRUST). Following medical school, Dr. Habel attended the University of Colorado where she completed her Family Medicine residency at Swedish Medical Center.
Dr. Mikesell, a Rawlins, Wyoming local, finished his degree at UW and went on to attend Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. After earning his degree in osteopathic medicine, Dr. Mikesell completed his residency at Utah Valley Family Medicine Residency in Provo, Utah where he provided hospital and clinic care to patients of all ages.
As family medicine providers, Dr. Habel and Dr. Mikesell specialize in caring for the whole family. Their scope of practice includes: managing chronic medical conditions, preventative health and medication management, women’s health needs, pediatric care and adult and geriatric health concerns.
As active members of the medical community, both Dr. Habel and Dr. Mikesell serve as WWAMI preceptors, providing medical students with hands-on experience in the field while helping them improve their medical skills.
Drs. Habel and Mikesell are currently accepting new patients and scheduling appointments at Ivinson Medical Group. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call or text Ivinson Medical Group at (307) 755-4540.
