City Invites Community Members To Join City Manager’s Budget Advisory Committee
The City of Laramie is pleased to announce the formation of the City Manager’s Budget Advisory Committee, offering residents a unique opportunity to participate in the City budgeting process. This committee is designed to bring together a diverse group of community members who are eager to learn about municipal finances and provide valuable input on budget transparency.
As part of the committee, members will engage directly with City staff to gain insight into Laramie’s budgeting, financial planning., and financial reports. The group will review and discuss financial documents, as well as offer recommendations and feedback related to the budgeting process. This collaboration aims to enhance transparency and ensure the City’s financial strategies are communicated clearly to the public.
“We believe community involvement is crucial to effective governance,” said City Manager Janine Jordan. “This committee will allow residents to gain hands-on experience with our budgeting process, and their input will help staff effectively and clearly communicate with the public about the City’s budgeting processes.”
The committee will consist of 12 to 15 members and meet monthly. Participants will review City financial statements and budget documents, ask questions, and communicate important financial information to the wider community. All community members interested in City finances, government transparency, or civic engagement are encouraged to apply—no specific financial or budgeting background is required.
