Property Tax Exemption Programs
Long-Term Homeowners Exemption
New for 2025 and 2026 ONLY
• 50% off your primary residence (occupy the residence 8+ months/year) and associated land (up to 35 acres)
• Must be 65+ years old and have paid residential property tax in Wyoming for 25+ years (does not need to be the same home or the same County) • Applications are available now
• Online at https://www.albanycountywy.gov/1671/Property-Tax Exemption-for-Long-Term-Hom • Or visit your County Assessor’s office
• Deadline to Apply: 4th Monday in May
• Applications are processed through the County Assessor’s Office
Homeowners Exemption
OR
• Qualifying single-family homes and associated land will receive 25% off up to the 1st million dollars in fair market value
• For 2026 and future years, this exemption will be
limited to owner-occupied residences (occupy the
residence for 8+ months/year), and an application is
required
• Applications are available now
• Must apply online at ptd.wyo.gov/OWNEROCC or
• Or visit your County Assessor’s office
• Deadline to Apply: February 1st of each year
Note: If you qualify for the Long-Term Homeowners
Exemption, you will not receive the Homeowners Exemption until 2027
