Minimal Growth on Sugarloaf Fire Tuesday

Fire activity was minimal on Tuesday, consisting mainly of backing and creeping. This resulted in little growth of the fire.

Today, crews will work to establish containment lines along the north edge of the fire. Fire personnel will scout for opportunities to put in additional handline as more crews arrive. Structure assessments are on ongoing along the Bear Creek drainage.

Forecast weather conditions for Wednesday:

Mostly sunny with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Any storms that develop may be capable of producing gusty, erratic winds. High temperatures of 72-74 with humidity levels of 32-34%. Chance of showers and thunderstorms continues overnight.

The size of the fire remains listed at 396 acres with 100 total personnel currently working it.
