Gem City United Drop-In basketball training will be available every Tuesday and Thursday night starting May 24, 2022, until June 30, 2022, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Laramie Plains Civic Center (Big Gym).

The cost of the training is FREE (DONATIONS ACCEPTED). 

Every practice coach will work on one or two fundamentals with the athletes (Boys and Girls) in order to help them improve their basketball skills. The athletes will be broken up by grade and will be taught age-appropriate basketball in a safe fun learning environment. The breakup of grades will be as followed, 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th grade. The GCU reserves the right to combine more grades if we are short on players or coaches at any practice. 

If your athlete has a basketball, please have them bring it to practice because the GCU is new and currently has limited basketballs. Most of the coaches have coached basketball at all levels from youth through high school. 

Although we will take walk-ups to fill spots, we ask that you register your athlete at the provided link. Those athletes that are registered first will be guaranteed a spot at the practice they are registered for. Most practices we will have between 12 and 18 athletes per grade group (coaches’ discretion). All athletes must be registered for each individual practice to take part in that practice. Signing up for the May 24th practice does not guarantee you a spot at the practice on May 26th or later.

All athletes must be signed in and out (NO DROP OFFS) by a parent or guardian and a waiver must be signed for your athlete to take part in the Drop in Training.
