The Daisy Program At IMH; Recognizing Nurses: This Quarters Award Winner Is Laura Killean, RN,
From The IMH Foundation:
Ivinson Memorial Hospital is proud to participate in the DAISY Award program, which honors nurses who provide extraordinary, compassionate care to patients and their families. This quarter, we are honored to recognize Laura Killean, RN, from our Behavioral Health Services team, as a DAISY Award nominee.
Laura was nominated by a family member who will never forget the support she provided during one of the most difficult moments of her life. After receiving the devastating news that her son had been in a serious accident and was spending the weekend in BHS, she felt overwhelmed, confused, and deeply concerned. Laura met her with genuine empathy and kindness, helping her find the strength she needed to be there for her son.
By acknowledging how hard the situation was while offering reassurance that they were not alone, Laura made a powerful impact in a short amount of time. She ensured the family felt seen, heard, and supported when they needed it most. Her compassionate presence brought comfort and stability during an incredibly challenging experience.
Thank you, Laura, for exemplifying the dedication and heart of Behavioral Health Services at Ivinson. The care you provide makes a meaningful difference for patients and their families every day.
As a part of this award recognition, the Ivinson Memorial Hospital Foundation offers a gift card to a business of the recipients choice. This gift card is provided through the Foundation “Thank a Nurse” fund, which was established in 2018 by a grateful patient as a way to ensure IMH nurses are recognized for their outstanding service and dedication to patient care.
Thank you, again, for your service to Ivinson Memorial Hospital and the Laramie community, and congratulations on receiving the DAISY Award!
