High Winds And Potential Fire Danger Tuesday Feb. 17th.

Just about all of the Hits 106 listening area is under a High Wind Warning from 5am till 11pm Tuesday Feb 17th. The winds today (Mon) Will be a bit breezy, but the gusts today (30mph or so) will be about what our sustained winds are tomorrow.

In the immediate Laramie tomorrow area expect winds 30 to 35 mph with gusts to around 55. There will be some higher wind gusts in areas North and west of Cheyenne with Garrett right on the cusp of seeing wind gusts higher or lower than 60mph. Arlington and Rawlins will also see wind gusts in the 60-65mph tange.

This will also present us with the likelyhood of high fire danger weather Tuesday afternoon. High winds, low humidity and sunny warm temps in the 40s near 50 means that any fires started could spread quickly
