On Mon Nov 10th about 530pm, Law enforcement and fire crews are on scene of a grass fire in the area of the Loves truck stop and Super 8 near Exit 310 on I-80. Due to the fire, I-80 Westbound will also be closed.

As a precaution, people in the immediate area are being evacuated to the Albany County Fairgrounds.

Please avoid the area and allow emergency crews to work safely. We will share updates as more information becomes available.

Update 8:12 pm:

The grass fire is now MOSTLY contained. No structures were lost and no lives were harmed. Loves and Petro will remain closed for a while due to burned power towers and power on the west side of Laramie will remain out until power company crews can safely evaluate. Fire crews are still working to make sure the fire is 100% contained and the area remains closed at this time.
