Partial Fire Ban And Ban On Fireworks In Albany County

There is a partial fire ban and a ban on fireworks in Albany County according to Albany County Emergency Management. Any violation of this ban may be in violation of a state statue and punishable by up to 30 days in jail and up to a $100 fine or both together along with restitution for the cost of fire supression and damage caused.

A potentially severe to extreme fire situation exists throughout Albany County, created by a heavy fuel load and dry conditions that could create situations that over-extend the firefighting capability of local government. Additionally, high fire danger may be aggravated by open burning and the use of incendiary devices
