Road closure That Will Affect UW Transit

The closure of the intersection of 15th Street and Ivinson Avenue starting Monday, March 4, will necessitate multiple changes to University of Wyoming bus routes and parking over the coming months. 

The closure is for the installation of deep utility infrastructure for UW’s student housing project.

Here are details on the changes:

Transit Changes March 4-15

Express Route — The Express Route will continue to serve the Wyoming Union from March 4-15, with service from the East and South Express lots every 10 minutes.

The Express Route will be unable to service the Classroom, Science Initiative and Anthropology buildings during this period.

Link Route — The Link Route will stop servicing the Wyoming Union starting March 4. The Orr Hall eastbound bus stop will be relocated to east of McIntyre Hall.

Evening Route — The Evening Route will stop servicing the east Wyoming Union starting March 4. A new stop will be added in Simpson Plaza west of the Wyoming Union starting March 4. 

Transit Changes March 18-Summer 2025

Express Route — The bus plaza east of the Wyoming Union will permanently close starting Monday, March 18. Pending city of Laramie approval, a new temporary bus stop servicing central campus will open south of Knight Hall on Ivinson Avenue March 18. The Express Route will continue to serve the East and South Express lots every 10 minutes. 

The Express Route will resume service to the Classroom, Science Initiative and Anthropology buildings March 18. Service at the Animal Science bus stop along Willett Drive will be discontinued until fall 2025.

Link Route — The Link Route will begin servicing the Knight Hall bus stop along Ivinson Avenue.

Parking Changes March 4-Summer 2024

Parking in Orange Zone 203 and Green Zones will be affected during construction. King Street north of the residence halls will become two-way traffic with access from Orr Hall. To accommodate two-way traffic, a section of Orange Zone 203 parking south of Tri-Delta as well as Green Zone parking in the Tobin parking lot will be closed to accommodate vehicle turnarounds. 

Additionally, there will be a partial closure in the Green Zone parking lot west of White Hall.
