Dr. Kate Kniss was recently appointed as Chief Academic Officer. Kate Kniss has been an educator for 21 years and has spent the last 10 years working with K-12 teachers in the Albany County School District. She has worked as a classroom teacher, interventionist, instructional facilitator, and professional development coordinator.

Kate has a B.A. in elementary education and political science from the University of Wyoming and a M.A. and PhD. in Curriculum and Instruction from the same institution. She is certified in elementary education, is National Board Certified in Mathematics/Early Adolescence, and a Presidential Awardee for excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

Along with passionately engaging in teaching and learning, Kate enjoys learning, skiing, running, and spending time with her two sons, husband, parents, and siblings. She never misses a chance to cheer on the Pokes or simply enjoy all that Laramie has to offer!
