Text Scam Circulating Concerning Lost Pets

From The City Of Laramie Animal Shelter:

We were made aware of this on Mon. Sept 16th after a person posted their lost dog on one of our local lost and found pages. If our animal control officers find your pet, we may contact you via phone call or text, but we will never send you a verification code to retrieve your dog. We will however meet with you in person to reunite you with your pet and verify your identity in person. If you have any questions if the call or text you are getting is legit, please call the Laramie Animal Shelter at 307-721-5385 or Dispatch at 307-721-2526.
