New Hours For Indoor Aquatics At Rec Center

With recent updates now complete, the Laramie Community Recreation Center has posted a new pool schedule for their indoor aquatics center. At the end of 2023, the Indoor Leisure Pool renovation project was completed and now the aquatics center has expanded the pool schedule to increase mid-day lap swim time and offer a dedicated time for teens and younger users to enjoy the new play structure.

The new pool schedule can be found on the City of Laramie website to help Rec Center guests and members determine the appropriate activity and corresponding time for them to enjoy the indoor pools and aquatic play structure. Each pool has its own hours of operation based on the activities taking place and the scheduled programming. Therefore please refer to the pool schedule for the best time to enjoy the pools.

“Our aquatics facility has had continuous updates and improvements since last fall, including our new play structure in the Indoor Leisure Pool. We’re excited to be expanding the indoor pool hours to better accommodate our guests and community members,” says Aquatics Supervisor, Wendy Clubb. “The extended pool hours also wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated staff of lifeguards. A big ‘thank you’ to them for making this possible.”

As a result of recent renovations and extended hours, reservations are no longer required for the indoor pools. The 8-lane Lap Pool is currently only available for lap swimming, swim lessons, and rec swim. The Indoor Leisure Pool is currently only available for water aerobics, therapy activities, tot swim, swim lessons, family swim, and teen swim. The Rec Center reminds members that the indoor pools are closed to other activities and outside swimmers during scheduled classes and lessons. Check out the pool schedule at www.cityoflaramie.org/809/Pool-Schedules to view dates and times of scheduled activities. The hot tub, steam room, and dry sauna are open any time the 8-lane Lap Pool or the Indoor Leisure Pool are open. However, the hot tub is closed for maintenance until further notice. Furthermore, the pool is particularly busy Monday-Friday between 3:30 and 5:00 PM, Saturdays, and other non-school days, and guests should be ready to plan for capacity limits around those times.
