Street Closure: Water Main Leak Repair At 15th And Harney
Laramie Department of Public Works is taking immediate action to address a water main leak at the crossroads of 15th and Harney. In the interest of public safety and efficient repairs, a partial temporary street closure will be implemented in the affected area.
The anticipated time of water service interruption, parking, and traffic interruption is from 7:30am-5:00pm, October 3. A specialized team of experts and technicians will be on-site on to commence the repair process. This will involve excavating the affected area and making the necessary repairs to restore the integrity of the line. Furthermore, this dig will affect water service in a 9-block area around 15th and Harney.
The turning lanes on both sides of the intersection will be closed when the project starts.The plan is to keep the intersection open for through traffic unless the conditions become unsafe for the repair crew, in which case the affected area will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to plan alternative routes to avoid the impacted intersection. Detour signs will be present to guide drivers through detour routes. Residents and commuters are encouraged to exercise caution and follow posted detour signs for their safety and for the safety of the repair crew.
