2025 License Plate Design Released

The next design for Wyoming License plates was recently announced. The new design for standard plates features the Wyoming Flag as the background.

New designs for specialty plates are still in the works and are expected to be released soon.

The current plate design featuring the Lower Green River and Squaretop Mountain has been in use since 2017.

History of plate designs:

In 1930 license plates began including County numbers

Wyoming License plates have included an image of the Bucking Horse and Rider since 1936.

Prior to 1975 plate designs changed each year.

Since then the design has changed 9 times including the current design.

Current Wyoming Law requires new license plates to be issued every 8 years and the new design must be easily distinguishable from previous designs.
