Third Street Utility Enhancement Delays

The 3rd Street Utility Enhancement Project is experiencing delays obtaining required materials to complete construction. Due to these delays construction activities will be temporarily shut down. The contractor will complete pavement patching between Lewis Street and Gibbon Street the week of June 20th. Once pavement is in place 3rd Street will be reopened to traffic. This is anticipated to be by June 24th.

The contractor anticipates starting work between Lewis Street and University Avenue on July 11th. All traffic control will be removed from 3rd Street during Jubilee Days.

The 3rd Street Utility Enhancement Project includes improvements within 3rd Street extending from Gibbon Street to Sheridan Street and additional work around the Baker Street and Fetterman Street intersections. Once construction activities are restarted in July it is expected that the contractor will continue working within 3 block sections until they reach the Sheridan Street Intersection. Construction for this project will continue through October of 2022.

Due to the delays experienced some construction activities will be completed in 2023. Exact dates are to be determined.
