Indian Paintbrush Elementary Students Raise $575 for Laramie Animal Welfare Society

LARAMIE, Wyo. (February 14, 2022) – The Indian Paintbrush Elementary School (IPES) Student Council held a Valentine’s Day fundraiser and raised $575 that will be donated to the Laramie Animal Welfare Society (LAWS).

The IPES Student Council decided to use Valentine’s day as an opportunity to give back to the community. So, they implemented a “Candy Gram” fundraiser in the school, with all proceeds going to LAWS. The Student Council said they chose LAWS because there are a lot of animals that need help, and they’re an important part of the Laramie community.

For the fundraiser, students could by a candy gram of assorted candies for $1, and have it delivered anonymously on Valentine’s Day. The IPES Student Council decided on the $1 price to make sure anyone could order a candy gram. Additionally, the Student Council prepared different candy grams full of assorted candies to meet any possible allergy needs.

The fundraiser was so popular that the school extended the dates that students could buy the candy grams by a day. The candy grams were on sale originally from Feb. 1-3. Since then, the student council put together about 1,000 candy grams, and the $575 in profits will be donated to LAWS.
