Airsoft Type Guns/Tik Tok Challenge Investigation

Over the last several weeks, the Laramie Police Department has investigated several instances of air soft type guns being shot at persons and property.   

Investigation into the incidents identified “Orbeez” guns which shoot a small diameter gel projectile and is also part of a viral Tik Tok challenge.   Though marketed as a toy, the projectiles are capable of inflicting injury, and possessing one without a permit on public right of way is illegal for anyone under 18.  Discharging one in city limits, for any age, is a violation of Municipal Code, 9.28.040(D), punishable of a fine up to seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00).
